-Unblessing the Purity-

In March of 2007, I saw a news post on Bloodbath's website looking for someone to do the artwork for their next mini-cd. Although it was unpaid work, as it was a contest, I felt confident that I could make an awesome death metal album cover, regardless of the concept.

I was in a bit of a slump last year, artistically, so I decided to use this as a means to get off my ass and paint. After getting the concept from the band, this is what I came up with. The original concept was simply, "a priest standing in a church giving baptism to a child - The priests head should be a black dogs head!". After the first concept they mentioned that they would like disciples in the background, which I think really ties together the piece. They didn't tell me that they had chosen my art until almost a year later, so you can imagine how patient I had to be before I could post it online.
