I define a comission as work-for-hire where the client has no intention of doing anything with the art other than keeping it to themselves. At this point in my career, I am very focused about doing as many projects as possible that will open more doors in my life. Being that a commissioned piece, by definitition, will never be enjoyed by anyone other than the person that it was made for, it is not something I am interested in doing at this time. Due to my other responsibilities in life, my time is limited. I need to make sure that the projects that I take on make sense for the goals I want to acheive.
